If you have been following me for a while, you know that I have been getting Stitch Fix clothing subscription boxes since long before I was blogging. This is my 11th Stitch Fix box! I just love getting fun pieces throughout the year, on my own schedule.
What is Stitch Fix? Stitch Fix a subscription service for men’s and women’s clothing [plus sizes and maternity too!!!] that you can get as often or as infrequently as you wish.
If you are already familiar with Stitch Fix and their clothing boxes, scroll down to see my review of my Summer 2018 box . If you are new to the idea or want to get a full rundown of the details, head over to this post for all the info.
Summer 2018 Stitch Fix (#11)!
When your fix arrives, you get a pretty box with five individual items (dresses, pants, shoes, accessories, shirts, etc.). You also get a note from your stylist with a style card for each item so you know how to dress it using clothing items in your own closet.
Here is my style card:
As you can see, I asked to receive multiple dresses and any other fun summer items in this fix. Here are my five items and what I thought!
I am pretty sure that I have kept every maxi dress I have ever received in a Stitch Fix! They are always the cutest prints with the best fit. It makes a huge difference that I am always sent a petite, meaning the length is just right.
This maxi from Le Lis was no different! I loved it before I even put it on! Can you tell by my fun video?!? Here are a few more photos of this one in case you missed them in the video. Keeping this dress was really just a no brainer!
When I saw the bright pink color and embroidered detail of this dress, I thought it was really pretty. I actually figured I would keep it for sure. However, on my body, the top didn’t sit as flat as I would like and was a little bit blousy. I was also trying REALLY hard to be strategic with my budget this round, so I needed to be very picky on the item(s) I decided to keep. This one had to go back!
My third dress was cream colored with a light pink and grey pattern and POCKETS! Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets!?!? I really liked the design and look of this dress, but this one went back too. Let me tell you why. First, it was definitely not the most flattering of the dresses, even though it fit just fine. It was meant to be more forgiving instead of form fitting. For me, it just appeared a little but frumpy. Also, the fabric wrinkled very easily. I don’t mind ironing in the morning [and I do it A LOT], but I don’t really want to be wrinkled mid-day if I can avoid it.
My last two pieces for this fix were not dresses, but fun summer pieces instead. Before I put on this cold shoulder top, I loved the look and pattern, but I was honestly afraid it would be too short on me. I definitely don’t want to wear anything where my I-birthed-four-children belly might show. To my absolutely delighted surprise, the fit was great! This one was a keeper!
The last item in this fix was a pair of bright red capris. Now these were super fun, but they were VERY bold and VERY red! I am not sure I would really get much wear out of these, so they ultimately went back too.
What do you think? Did I keep the right pieces? Have you received a fun summer fix lately?
