I wish I could take credit for this adorable spa party! My friend Sarah told me she was throwing a spa party for her oldest daughter’s 8th birthday. Knowing this friend throws adorable parties, has tons of creative ideas and is also a cake genius, I knew it would be perfection. When I asked her to let me take photos and feature it on the blog, she loved the idea. She is so busy during parties that she often doesn’t get all the photos she wants. Win-win!
Before the party, Sarah sent a text to each mom asking her daughter to choose her spa boxed lunch, picking one item from each section.
When the girls arrived, they were told to grab a robe and headband, dress the part, and then choose a pair of flip flops to decorate. Scraps of ribbon were available to make their own, one of a kind flip flops to wear for the day.
The robes were men’s T-shirts cut up the middle and embellished with wide blue ribbon. Can you say adorable?!?!
After the girl’s flip flops were thoroughly decorated, they went to the next room where they could choose nail polish, soak their feet, and have a little pedicure. Sarah let us know in advance that we would be painting the girl’s toes, so the mom’s were prepared to jump in. There were magazine’s to read while the girls waited and let their feet soak.
The next activity was make-your-own-lip-gloss! Vaseline and water flavoring in a little container. The girls loved it!
The final activity before lunch was face masks. Sarah made a yogurt, honey and banana face mask for the girls to apply at the perfectly set up table. Once their mask was applied, they went to the “relaxation room” where they relaxed on their pillow and towel (we were told in advance to bring these) with cucumbers on their eyes, letting the mask set.
The girls were hilarious and not everyone loved the way the mask felt on their face!
One the masks were washed off, it was time for boxed lunches. These were super cute and made to order!
To wrap up a perfect and relaxing day…CAKE! The CUTEST spa party cake you have ever seen! Didn’t I tell you she was a genius?
As the girls left, they got a goodie bag including a face mask and a hand decorated cookie (she is a cookie genius too!).
Thank you, Sarah, for letting me share your adorable spa party and happy birthday to Emmie!
